(CAPGP) Conservation Agriculture Planning Grant Program

The Conservation Agriculture Planning Grant Program (CAPGP) funds the development of various typed of agricultural conservation plans related to the CDFA Climate Smart Agriculture Programs(CSA). These programs address risks that climate change poses to agriculture, including but not limited to, drought, uncertain water availability, increased temperatures, and increased pest pressures. The funded plans will promote CSA efforts which will help to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, support agricultural adaptation to climate change impacts and promote environmental and agricultural sustainability. It should be noted the CAPGP funds are spent on the development of plans, not the implementation of those plans.

Example plan categories include: Agriculture Energy Design, Carbon Farm Planning, Comprehensive Nutrient Management, Fish and Wildlife Habitat, Grazing Management, Irrigation Water Management, etc.)

If you are interested in the program and want to apply you can reach out to your Natural Resource Coordinator Tucker Bennett through email and/or call (530)501-8159.
